WE and What Ifs!!!

Future…

Uncertain and unsure life ahead...

What will happen next? How my future will be? Will my life shape according to my choices?

We always have these questions in our mind. We always think about the future.

My friends and I are constantly thinking about our future for the next two years.
What will happen? Will my dreams become reality? Will I get what I want? Will the teachers love me?
But, don’t you think that we are missing out on life now. We have omitted the joys of being a graduate. Yes, I know, the results are uncertain, given what we have written. But, we have finished college. That itself calls for a celebration.

Yet, here we are, thinking about our post graduation and work days.

True, that we need planning and preparation for our future. For that top ground breaking place, we need to think about our future.
But, that doesn't mean we will forget about our very present.

You must be thinking why I am talking about present and future, because we all know these basics.
Yes, we all know that we should live in the present, future will be shaped accordingly. Yet, we end up thinking about ‘What will happen’ or ‘What if’!

What will happen if I am not selected? What if my parents don’t talk to me anymore because I didn't choose what they chose for me! What will happen if I screw up on my first day? What if I don’t get the first place? What if he got a better offer than me? And so on...  and there are also What will happen if he/she rejects me?? What if that I don’t deserve him/her? What will happen if my boyfriend/girlfriend leaves me? What will happen if he/she falls in love with someone good looking than me? And so forth…

Okay so innumerable what ifs & what will happens. And our present vanishes in this innumerable in this…

You must be thinking that we need to address these “Innumerable what ifs & what will happens” to make our future bright.

But our future will shine only if we work on making us shine… Thinking about these questions and procrastinating them will never make us shine… And if we work on living our present will surely have a shining future…
And also about asking the right ‘what ifs and what will happen’. Like What will happen if I choose a degree course instead of a diploma course? What if I join this institution instead of this college? What will happen If I loved him/her for what he/she is? What if I give this relationship some time instead of coming to conclusions?

Yes, addressing the right questions makes life simple. But we need to have that affirmative feeling in our questions and also that optimistic attitude to whatever life offers. Yes, you may say all time optimism is hard, when we don’t get what we want. But being sad and crying and feeling disgusted with what we never wanted yet got nevertheless, will never make us happy.

Living our life today is what matters. These what ifs and what will happens come and go. We need to be living today so that as we all say to have a bright and shining future. Addressing the right questions, dealing with life with that smile and that correct attitude helps…

WE and HOPE!!

Wish. Expectation.  Yearning. Longing. Crave. Wait. Pine. Want. In other words Hope.
Hope. But what is this ‘hope’? Why do we hope?

'Hey, what are you writing?'

'Hope.'

'Hope?'

'An assignment of ours.'

'Oh! Okay! But hope? Didn't your professor get anything else?'

'Why? What’s wrong? Our world glides forward with hope. Our lives are based on hope.'

'Hmm. But hope? Our lives are based on reality not hopes and wishes.'

'Nope. Hope is an important element in our lives… Without hope nothing works.'

'Bullshit. Hope, luck wish, expectation, these are nothing but time wasting elements. They are a misuse of our time, the time where we can do real work; give real efforts to our dreams.'

'Maybe for you. But for me hope is expecting the reality the way I want. Wishing a perfect dream reality.'

'My lady that is a dream, not a reality. Real means accepting reality. But you are dreaming a dream which you hope that it turn out to be a real vision. But sorry to say that doesn't happen in real.'

'Christopher Reeve said, "Once you choose Hope, anything’s possible."'

'Okay. But hope is only hope. One has to be real and practical to achieve that hope. Only hope doesn't get you anything or get you anywhere.'

'Students hope for good marks, would be parents hope to get a boy generally, people hope for better job opportunities, hope for perfect life partners, hope for a comfortable  home, better lifestyle, etc.'

'Right, but good marks, better job opportunities, comfort homes with lifestyle can be achievable if one works in achieving those. If a person aims in achieving these and works hard he will surely get it. He doesn't have to hope for that. And for a boy or girl it’s not about hope or wish, it's about culture and education.'

'It's my belief that with hope everything is possible. We can go miles and achieve our aims with hope. And if we are lucky we will achieve what we hoped for.'

'Lucky? There is no such word as luck. One needs to work hard to achieve one’s dream. Luck and hope never works if there is no hard work with aim and consistency of honesty, integrity and vision.'

'Hope brings happiness. It brings the sunshine in our lives. Hope is the rainbow of wishes and desires in our real life.'

'Wow. Except that rainbow of sunshine happiness is short-lived if one doesn't aim to achieve their dreams in real.'

'I hope to understand your real hope, and you understand my dream hope.'

'That’s nice. But I would stick to my "real hope" and you carry on with your "dream hope".'

…......... Hope. "Hope doesn't bring sorrow with itself. In relationships, hope drives us to come closer." http://www.manishbengani.com/2012/10/in-love-with-expectations.html  One can surely hope, but one has to be real and dream real to achieve that hope.

WE and ADS!!

A treat to the eyes… Its sight makes you smile…
It makes you reflect… It makes you think… It creates a relationship…
Yes, I am talking about the ads, be it posters or commercials, we do have a strange relationship with them…

Ads or advertisements are a significant part of our lives… Some ads motivate and inspire us… Some ads just make us smile… And some ads just make us enjoy life… Though, these preferences vary with person to person, yet they are intriguingly appealing…

A person riding a bike. He has dreams. He has aspirations. He has aims. He has seen failure. He has seen success. He is a person who has a goal in his life. He has a hero in himself. Yes, this ad just brings out the ‘hero’ in us. It brings out the leader in us. It makes us aim our dreams. My sir says, "there is definitely a Hero inside you, and if its not yet awake, give it that push". http://zubinrashid.blogspot.in/2011/10/hero-in-you.html    Or take the ad which asks us to make our life ‘large’ because it’s our life, and only we can make it big. Yes, they say, we have reached our aims, but we have to keep on dreaming, aiming and achieving… One of my brothers thinks that this ad makes one say "Yes, I have done something in my life". http://sankarshan15.blogspot.in/2011/12/its-your-life-make-it-large.html

An ad that says ‘Drink Positive’ is definitely a winner. Or an ad which has a tagline as ‘For those who do’ will certainly encourage, arouse that positive energy one might need at that moment. A sunshine confidence and faith instills both courage and happiness in oneself, amplify our craving for knowledge and wisdom, and then he or she also spreads that happiness around, and thus it becomes a link, which knots everyone in an optimistic inspirational and blissful life…

I am also a admirer of an ad telling us if one has courage, he or she will positively attain and accomplish his or her goal. I also am fond of the add saying if something negative irks us, then we should modify and amend it, so that we have something positive. Also an ad which says that one is a winner if one overcomes the fear is surely at the top in my charts…
Yes, ads do motivate and encourage, inspire and arouse our self belief, our inner faith, and passionate ideas.

There are ads which makes me go to my ‘so cute, so sweet’ mode. Yes, I am talking about the baby ads, I mean, the ads which feature cute sweet cuddly babies, which makes us want to coddle and to cosset those little ones just then. I do sometimes, want to go inside my television set to just, you know, hold those toddlers, pamper them, and shower them with my kisses and love…

Sometimes, they bring our favourite heroes to our homes, which I thoroughly enjoy. I personally don’t understand why we need fairness creams, because, I do love my skin colour. But I do love those ads which show those products of makeup and deck up…

Ads make us say wow, create a sensation of triumph, shows us how happy and encouraging life can be, and how optimistic we can be…

WHITE....

I was really happy when I got my selection letter for my post graduation degree course. But the mere thought of leaving my Kolkata life brought me to tears! I was at loss!

Just then, my eyes fell on one picture. White waves splashing on the shore... Immediately, the white bubbling foam of the sea waves that crashes on the sand came to my mind. It reminds me of the poems where the poet gives description  about white bubbling sea waves crashing on the sea beach and leaving behind shells, pebbles etc.. The white water makes me ecstatic, for some minutes I lead a carefree life without any worries, any tensions…
A mountain, as well as sea, gives immense pleasure to the eye, and the heart. Mountains when covered with snow give an ecstatically pure pleasure…  Mauna Kea in Hawaiian, or Mont Blanc in the Alps are heavenly experience.

The colour white is one of the primary colours, the most tranquil colour. Whenever I think of the colour White, the words Peace, Harmony, Pleasure, Contentment, Satisfaction, Innocence, Happiness comes to my mind. As if, I lead a peacefully content life… Like I have every happiness……

White…… In Church weddings, a beautiful woman in a beautiful white wedding gown with a nice bouquet of white lilies looking marvelous… Such a beautiful sight...! I wish I were that girl!!

I think of the angels attired in white, seated on the “Elysian Lawns” with happiness, joy, comfort and contentment, watching and blessing us.

Speaking about white, I was thinking about white wine. A relishing moment, & top it up with soft cheese, its heavenly! Talking about food luxuries, for me cheese cream chicken delicacy is the best option. In addition, white chocolates are another threat, which are creamy and delicious! It is like experiencing magic!

White also reminds me of Holi when everyone wears White, to play the festival of colours. Everyone ecstatically plays with colours, throwing and pasting red, blue, yellow, green, pink colours on each other and splashing coloured water on each other. White is made colourful that day. It looks like the seven rainbow colours have come down to earth.

The seven rainbow colours are refracted into its component colours when the white light of God passes through the prism. The colour white is my remembrance of Sarojini Naidu’s “Soul’s Prayer” – “Life is a prism of My light”

White… so pure, so graceful, so enlightening, so divine. However, the colour white has other connotations also. In Hindu religion, the people are attired in white whenever they go to a mourning house. Though White is the symbol of sadness, sense of loss, yet White makes me feel very happy, calm, contended. White makes me feel closer to God!

“White is not a mere absence of color; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black. God paints in many colors; but He never paints so gorgeously, I had almost said so gaudily, as when He paints in white.” – Gilbert Keith Chesterton.
