WE and HOPE!!

Wish. Expectation.  Yearning. Longing. Crave. Wait. Pine. Want. In other words Hope.
Hope. But what is this ‘hope’? Why do we hope?

'Hey, what are you writing?'

'Hope.'

'Hope?'

'An assignment of ours.'

'Oh! Okay! But hope? Didn't your professor get anything else?'

'Why? What’s wrong? Our world glides forward with hope. Our lives are based on hope.'

'Hmm. But hope? Our lives are based on reality not hopes and wishes.'

'Nope. Hope is an important element in our lives… Without hope nothing works.'

'Bullshit. Hope, luck wish, expectation, these are nothing but time wasting elements. They are a misuse of our time, the time where we can do real work; give real efforts to our dreams.'

'Maybe for you. But for me hope is expecting the reality the way I want. Wishing a perfect dream reality.'

'My lady that is a dream, not a reality. Real means accepting reality. But you are dreaming a dream which you hope that it turn out to be a real vision. But sorry to say that doesn't happen in real.'

'Christopher Reeve said, "Once you choose Hope, anything’s possible."'

'Okay. But hope is only hope. One has to be real and practical to achieve that hope. Only hope doesn't get you anything or get you anywhere.'

'Students hope for good marks, would be parents hope to get a boy generally, people hope for better job opportunities, hope for perfect life partners, hope for a comfortable  home, better lifestyle, etc.'

'Right, but good marks, better job opportunities, comfort homes with lifestyle can be achievable if one works in achieving those. If a person aims in achieving these and works hard he will surely get it. He doesn't have to hope for that. And for a boy or girl it’s not about hope or wish, it's about culture and education.'

'It's my belief that with hope everything is possible. We can go miles and achieve our aims with hope. And if we are lucky we will achieve what we hoped for.'

'Lucky? There is no such word as luck. One needs to work hard to achieve one’s dream. Luck and hope never works if there is no hard work with aim and consistency of honesty, integrity and vision.'

'Hope brings happiness. It brings the sunshine in our lives. Hope is the rainbow of wishes and desires in our real life.'

'Wow. Except that rainbow of sunshine happiness is short-lived if one doesn't aim to achieve their dreams in real.'

'I hope to understand your real hope, and you understand my dream hope.'

'That’s nice. But I would stick to my "real hope" and you carry on with your "dream hope".'

…......... Hope. "Hope doesn't bring sorrow with itself. In relationships, hope drives us to come closer." http://www.manishbengani.com/2012/10/in-love-with-expectations.html  One can surely hope, but one has to be real and dream real to achieve that hope.

WE and CHOICES!!

We love when we have an option, preference, chance, selection or an alternative. In short we need these Choices.

These words, actually, these are life savers, which we seek whenever we are in a dilemma, or a problem. In our crisis they bring in a cool breeze of happiness.

‘I have a choice, and I will decide what I want/need.’ Yes, saying this sentence gives a win-win feeling! But do we ever think but that choice might do to our family and friends?!
I recently had to make a choice! I made that choice! My subconscious mind did think what it might lead to my family, but my conscious just thought about what I will get if I made that choice, what I will gain, and what I want. But as we say it’s our life, it’s our choice! And this choices, I am sure will hurt our families in the beginning. But they will identify with it by and by... Their understanding is our hidden strengths!

Making a choice is not as difficult as making our family understand why we prefer that choice! And may be in that process we will select a better choice for ourselves! Or maybe our confidence in our choice will grow...
Yes, you may say that ‘It’s our choice and our life’ so why do we need to consider about what family and friends might think! But we need to! When we see that sparkle we have in their eyes after accepting our decision. It’s a feeling of the millennium! It’s a feeling which no one can buy!

Having a choice is good, because in that way, we tend to know what we really want!
Selecting science arts or commerce! Going to a college in Mumbai or Bangalore or staying in my city! Selecting a job offer or starting a business or chasing that dream! Selecting the house with a pool or with a lawn. Preferring a car with music system or not! Cooking Chinese or continental for dinner! Wearing a sari or a gown to the cocktail party! Colour of the drapes should contrast or be similar to the room colour! And many more…
Choices! Preferences! About profession, work, studies, attire, even whom to choose as our friends and whom to marry etc, etc. This is an endless list. Each day we have choices to make. Some are beneficial to us and some are beneficial to others but all those choices guide us in our life. But choices are influential and significant in our lives.

The choices I faced are mostly about studies! And I am yet to know whether they were/are wise choices or….
The options to choose from are infinite and sometimes they make me feel that I should run away from these choices and wait for someone else to make that choice! But it’s all about taking a chance to make that choice to change the course of my life hopefully in a positive outcome! Isn't it?

Choices should be chosen wisely! But we shouldn't be disheartened if that choice wasn't a winner! We just need to imbibe the positives, understand our mistakes and try again…
But choices when made by own selves are the best choices. Choosing left or right, should be entirely an individual choice! A choice of being happy!!
A choice like studying, to have a job which our hearts want, which will inspire our lives in a positive upbringing and making our family and friends understanding it, is a much needed choice to make our society a better living place!

As my friend says ‘If that's how powerful choices are, and if we really love making one for ourselves, then let's make them wisely.’ http://www.manishbengani.com/2013/01/in-love-with-choices.html

WE and UNCERTAIN '???'....

Will I get full marks? Does he/she love me? Do I look good in this attire? Am I pretty? I am no good for this job.
We have so many questions in our lives. We ask this type of questions innumerable times to ourselves. Am I good enough? Am I eligible for this job? Or it can be like I am no good; I don’t know what will happen to me; should I do this?; I can’t aim that high; I would not be able to accomplish my goal...  And many more…

Uncertainty is part of life... We all live with that hazy element... But, our present is not muddled… It’s clear... It is evident and visible if we look for it… And in that sense, we make our future, pretty clear too… Our future is designed by our present…

But we always have these questions! We always come up with questions which are inaccurate, off beam, uncertain, and vague. We always are not clear in our mind… If we are clear for one thing, we may be vague about another. We always fear about the future and think about the past… In this way we don’t enjoy our present life…

And these questions are often asked to another person. Their views and opinions always matter more than our own heart says. But why do we need to ask these uncertain questions to ourselves or to others? Why we need to know these answers?

Getting full marks, sure matters, one will definitely get that, if one had studied. One is always good in his or her jobs if one knows his or her job! Beautiful heart is more necessary than a pretty face, I guess. One can aim as much high as he or she wants, one can aim for all that positivity, inspirations and optimism. One can definitely be certain in his or her mind and heart.

I am not saying one can’t ask any questions. Sure, one can! But those questions should not take a toll in one’s life. The uncertain questions are mainly unenthusiastic and unconstructive which can cause depression, dejection, hopelessness, misery, gloominess etc… I had often thought in my past that I am fat, I am not fair, I can’t get ninety out of hundred, I am not made for these subjects, or for these beautiful dresses. Trust me, they made it worse. I was gloomy and sad, and everything deteriorated.

So, we need to say yes to positivity and optimism. Moreover we need to ask the right questions! We need to be certain and confident for those correct questions and reach our goals. A little uncertainty is always there, but we should be clear, say 99%...

We need to ask questions like; What is my dream for my future? How should I build my vision? How should I create my imagination into reality? How do I need to present myself to the outer world? How me and my work should be, that we both get positive recognition, respect and admiration? We need to be certain about: I am an amazing person, I am beautiful from my heart, and I love myself and aspire to be an optimistic person with confidence.

We may not get the answers at that moment. It might take time to reach our goals. To get to that creation, we need to be patient. To get to that ambition we need to be stable. And we need to have that trust, belief, faith, hope and confidence in ourselves!

One may say I am vague but not for the correct questions!

“Confidence is something you create within yourself by believing in who you are.”

WE and ADS!!

A treat to the eyes… Its sight makes you smile…
It makes you reflect… It makes you think… It creates a relationship…
Yes, I am talking about the ads, be it posters or commercials, we do have a strange relationship with them…

Ads or advertisements are a significant part of our lives… Some ads motivate and inspire us… Some ads just make us smile… And some ads just make us enjoy life… Though, these preferences vary with person to person, yet they are intriguingly appealing…

A person riding a bike. He has dreams. He has aspirations. He has aims. He has seen failure. He has seen success. He is a person who has a goal in his life. He has a hero in himself. Yes, this ad just brings out the ‘hero’ in us. It brings out the leader in us. It makes us aim our dreams. My sir says, "there is definitely a Hero inside you, and if its not yet awake, give it that push". http://zubinrashid.blogspot.in/2011/10/hero-in-you.html    Or take the ad which asks us to make our life ‘large’ because it’s our life, and only we can make it big. Yes, they say, we have reached our aims, but we have to keep on dreaming, aiming and achieving… One of my brothers thinks that this ad makes one say "Yes, I have done something in my life". http://sankarshan15.blogspot.in/2011/12/its-your-life-make-it-large.html

An ad that says ‘Drink Positive’ is definitely a winner. Or an ad which has a tagline as ‘For those who do’ will certainly encourage, arouse that positive energy one might need at that moment. A sunshine confidence and faith instills both courage and happiness in oneself, amplify our craving for knowledge and wisdom, and then he or she also spreads that happiness around, and thus it becomes a link, which knots everyone in an optimistic inspirational and blissful life…

I am also a admirer of an ad telling us if one has courage, he or she will positively attain and accomplish his or her goal. I also am fond of the add saying if something negative irks us, then we should modify and amend it, so that we have something positive. Also an ad which says that one is a winner if one overcomes the fear is surely at the top in my charts…
Yes, ads do motivate and encourage, inspire and arouse our self belief, our inner faith, and passionate ideas.

There are ads which makes me go to my ‘so cute, so sweet’ mode. Yes, I am talking about the baby ads, I mean, the ads which feature cute sweet cuddly babies, which makes us want to coddle and to cosset those little ones just then. I do sometimes, want to go inside my television set to just, you know, hold those toddlers, pamper them, and shower them with my kisses and love…

Sometimes, they bring our favourite heroes to our homes, which I thoroughly enjoy. I personally don’t understand why we need fairness creams, because, I do love my skin colour. But I do love those ads which show those products of makeup and deck up…

Ads make us say wow, create a sensation of triumph, shows us how happy and encouraging life can be, and how optimistic we can be…

WE and GOOD BYE...

I bid adieu… Good bye.
An end or good bye to our relationship, to our dreams, to our aspirations, because this ending is not a happy ending, it is not an ending which we crave for…

We all want a happy ending… We all want this ending which they say is near to impossible… But happiness is not impossible to get… Happiness is always there even in the small and tiny things… But why do we say, a happy ending is impossible, a happy ending is unattainable?

End… It means something ended to start something new… But an unhappy ending doesn't mean an unhappy start… We should be bold enough to thank those good byes because it is in our hand to get that happiness, those dreams, because it is our own life!
Yes, you might say, I didn't launch my dreams to have a dejected end! I worked hard but my failures are more than my successes. I do not deserve that!
Yes, you deserve the best. You deserve the happy ending that you dreamt of! We all deserve that! We all are worthy for that!

But ending doesn't always mean failure. Does it? An end may occur because of the circumstances, we may have to bid adieu because sometimes we just have to let it be…
We leave school for college, college for work, even our abode, but there are always plenty of opportunities waiting for us, ample chances for our dreams to be accomplished. Yes, we leave behind our friends, but we do make new friends.  The moments stay forever even though the time never comes back…
Even a relationship ends, because we do not have the heart or mind for the disappointments it offered.

I bid good bye to my sad ending,
To welcome my new start.
To be present to make my mistakes right,
To be there to aim until I grasp.
So that I enjoy my life.

I bid good bye to my failure.
To embrace it as my success.
To aim my dreams high.
To be there to love myself.
To an encouraging life.

I bid good bye to my wants
To make u a person of my dreams but
To accept u as who you are
To be the person I wanted to be.
To be there to hold your hand.

I greet my life with confidence
To lead with optimism.
To be present in every situation
Whether it is sad or happy, miserable or blissful.
I bid adieu to the pessimistic attitude to enjoy my life…

WE and EXAMS.....

Learning and knowledge go alongside. We learn and gain knowledge everyday of our life! We face exams every second of our life! Be it a job, or college, or school, or our homes and relationships, we are always assessed & appraised!

Exams! Mine are over at least for now! The college one, I mean!! Being a renowned university student I had my share of fearing exams and even studies sometimes. But should we fear exams? Should we run away from that knowledge of wisdom? My friend had some time back said that life would have been easier & blissful if we didn't have exams!!
I sometimes try to imagine, whether life would have been that easier and blissful, if we didn't have exams?! What would have happened if we didn't learn anything? Our life would be standstill... We wouldn't move forward!

For us students, school and college exams were not heavenly! We were never happy with the question paper and the teachers were never happy with our answer sheets! And we were never content with our marks even! We wanted more! Wanting more is good!! Desiring more is always welcome but we should first be happy and content with what we have got! Anyways, Exams were never our best friends! Yes, past tense because I have learnt to love exams! Studies and exam were not my best friends! But if I enjoy those exams, I would love that college and school exams? With entrance exams, competitive exams, and God knows what exams, studies and exams nowadays are more than our little brains can cope with... Yet, still, should we not try enjoying??.............

One may say that jobs are always tough and hard-hitting when it comes to assessment and evaluation! The always judge and criticize and never praise! Well, as my friend has said, one has to learn to enjoy that review result!  One has to enjoy that work, whether it’s praise or analysis! So, in this way we face exams, but we always pass with flying colours at the end of the day!

I always had the thought that if my teacher’s told me how they wanted the answers in the answer scripts, how and what the examination board will assess for the allotted marks, it would have been more easy and blissful as my friend has said! Suppose, if we had an assigned class, where we were asked of our problems, what we wanted like marks or fewer syllabuses, and also taught how to write an answer which the assessment board will evaluate, would have been better! All that hard feelings wouldn't be there, the wrong methods would not be used!

Relationships are tricky! Here we expect more than we get! Here we want more than we gain! But a relationship should be watered with love not pricked with desires and wishes! Any relationship, when faced with troubles, would be asked why! So that we can rectify it and make that relationship strong and enjoyable! A relation exam needs care and attention, which we should give, if we want to sustain that relation!

Exams teach us how to live our life! With the hurdles and hardship we learn that optimism is the core of success… We learn that failures and difficulties are part of life which when enjoyed proves to be an achievement… An achievement of joy, happiness and wisdom… Ecstasy and contentment of doing what our hearts want… Knowledge and wisdom of following one’s own dreams and aims… Achieving that perfect dream…

“Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”

WHITE....

I was really happy when I got my selection letter for my post graduation degree course. But the mere thought of leaving my Kolkata life brought me to tears! I was at loss!

Just then, my eyes fell on one picture. White waves splashing on the shore... Immediately, the white bubbling foam of the sea waves that crashes on the sand came to my mind. It reminds me of the poems where the poet gives description  about white bubbling sea waves crashing on the sea beach and leaving behind shells, pebbles etc.. The white water makes me ecstatic, for some minutes I lead a carefree life without any worries, any tensions…
A mountain, as well as sea, gives immense pleasure to the eye, and the heart. Mountains when covered with snow give an ecstatically pure pleasure…  Mauna Kea in Hawaiian, or Mont Blanc in the Alps are heavenly experience.

The colour white is one of the primary colours, the most tranquil colour. Whenever I think of the colour White, the words Peace, Harmony, Pleasure, Contentment, Satisfaction, Innocence, Happiness comes to my mind. As if, I lead a peacefully content life… Like I have every happiness……

White…… In Church weddings, a beautiful woman in a beautiful white wedding gown with a nice bouquet of white lilies looking marvelous… Such a beautiful sight...! I wish I were that girl!!

I think of the angels attired in white, seated on the “Elysian Lawns” with happiness, joy, comfort and contentment, watching and blessing us.

Speaking about white, I was thinking about white wine. A relishing moment, & top it up with soft cheese, its heavenly! Talking about food luxuries, for me cheese cream chicken delicacy is the best option. In addition, white chocolates are another threat, which are creamy and delicious! It is like experiencing magic!

White also reminds me of Holi when everyone wears White, to play the festival of colours. Everyone ecstatically plays with colours, throwing and pasting red, blue, yellow, green, pink colours on each other and splashing coloured water on each other. White is made colourful that day. It looks like the seven rainbow colours have come down to earth.

The seven rainbow colours are refracted into its component colours when the white light of God passes through the prism. The colour white is my remembrance of Sarojini Naidu’s “Soul’s Prayer” – “Life is a prism of My light”

White… so pure, so graceful, so enlightening, so divine. However, the colour white has other connotations also. In Hindu religion, the people are attired in white whenever they go to a mourning house. Though White is the symbol of sadness, sense of loss, yet White makes me feel very happy, calm, contended. White makes me feel closer to God!

“White is not a mere absence of color; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black. God paints in many colors; but He never paints so gorgeously, I had almost said so gaudily, as when He paints in white.” – Gilbert Keith Chesterton.
